Overview

Component Solutions Group’s Machining and Assembly Division is a leading provider of high-quality, OE-engineered components manufactured in the USA. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced, dynamic, self-starting individual for Procurement and Materials Manager at our operation in Lexington, KY.  In this hands-on management role, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of materials, inventory, and supply chain operations while also leading the procurement and sourcing activities. This role will ensure a smooth flow of materials, optimize inventory levels, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost-effective purchasing practices.

  • Analyze and control procurement costs, seeking cost-saving opportunities, and optimizing purchasing practices without compromising quality.

  • Oversee supplier performance, develop, and track key performance indicators (KPIs), and address any issues or concerns related to vendors.

  • Create and implement strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels, balancing supply, and demand requirements to minimize excess inventory and carrying costs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to accurately forecast future material requirements, considering production schedules, sales projections, and other relevant factors.

  • Utilize and maintain (ERP) systems and other databases to track inventory levels, manage material flows, generate reports, and ensure an accurate and costing system.

  • Assist with production planning for assembly and machining departments.

  • Responsible for the preparation, process, and variances of purchase orders in accordance with company policies, quality standards, and procedures.

  • Oversee shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods.

  • Manage and oversee three to four direct reports.

  • Proven experience in materials management and procurement, with at least four (4) years of relevant experience.

  • Industry experience and/or product knowledge is an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize inventory and purchasing decisions.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

  • Proficiency in using ERP systems, inventory management software, and other relevant tools.

  • Leadership skills to manage and motivate teams within both Inventory Control and Purchasing functions.

  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively
