Overview

Blue Grass Manufacturing is a subsidiary of Component Solutions Group and is a leading provider of high-quality, engineered products manufactured in the USA.  BGM is seeking a Quality Supervisor at our Lexington, KY facility. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the facility’s quality management program, including the development and supervision of a team of qualified personnel, to ensure customer satisfaction through the production of products that consistently meet our customers’ needs and design standards. This person will maintain all facets of the quality system to the current ISO and industry standards.

  • Examine and inspect quality of material, including identification of non-conforming products.

  • Document & communicate corrective actions to improve internal quality as well as customer satisfaction.

  • Track & monitor customer complaints, investigate root cause & resolve thru 8D process

  • Advise operations on the plant floor in conjunction with the quality program and manage the program’s effectiveness daily.

  • Participates in, and provides training as required.

  • Performs Layered Process Audits (LPA) per plan.

  • Establish & maintain reporting metrics. Daily, Monthly, Quarterly per plan.

  • Communicate with Plant manager on plant issues, problems, planning, updates, assistance needed from supervision, maintenance etc.

  • Assist and maintain the plant 5S program for effectiveness and consistency.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Corporate Quality Manager.

  • Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary.

  • Automotive Tier I or II experience with knowledge of Industry Standard Specifications.

  • Strong ability to read & interpret part drawings both in English & Metric.

  • Perform 1st Article Inspections, proficient with gages, tools & precision equipment.

  • Knowledge of AIAG Level III PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, APQP, MSA.

  • Experience in a variety of basic operation disciplines: Manufacturing, Machining, Quality, Process / Tooling, Welding, Shop Floor Supervision, Maintenance and Repair.

  • Understanding of ISO compliancy and OSHA regulations and requirements.

  • Experience with production processes, quality controls, safety, costs reduction, and other techniques for the effective manufacture and processing of goods.

  • Proven ability to work with cross functional teams.

  • Must possess all other qualities critical for managerial success including leadership, motivation, decisiveness, flexibility, sound business judgment, and determination.

  • Regular, skilled use of Microsoft programs and able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Associates degree and 3+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing (B.S. or B.A. Degree in technical- related field preferred)

  • 3-5 years of previous work experience in a manufacturing setting, 2 years in a Quality Leadership or Supervisory Role in an ISO/TS or AS/Quality System.

  • Thoroughly versed in use of array of testing equipment.

  • Understanding of IATF16949, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Quality problem solving tools, and APQP.

  • Ability to read and use a wide range of measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, tensile testers, steel rulers, elcometers, torque wrenches, hardness testers, gauge blocks, and refractometer

  • Knowledge and proficiency in CAD, Engineering, Automotive Fasteners and CMM

  • Computer knowledge and experience with emphasis on Microsoft Office applications
