Analyze prints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.

Oversee fixturing, tooling and supplies.

Inspect defective machinery to determine cause of malfunction and reports need for machine repairs to the maintenance department. Follow up to ensure the machine is proper working order.

Assist in the set ups of manual and CNC machines.

Oversee / develop production schedules, estimate and maintain worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.

Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules, write and updates work instructions.
-
Oversee and recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.

Oversee machine shop personnel. This position will have 13+ direct and indirect reports.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carry-out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; resolving problems and terminating employees as necessary.

Oversee the accuracy, efficiency and safety of daily operations in the shop, making sure production cycles and manufacturing processes are met from part design to fabrication.

Train employees in the proper use of equipment, enforce safety regulations, assign tasks, and oversee employees' work.

Prepare and close work orders in a timely manner ensuring operations align with company policies and procedures.

Ensure a clean and safe working environment throughout the department at all times.

Continuously review manpower and overtime requirements. Coordinates overtime to ensure a cost effective and productive use of workforce.

Bachelor's degree OR a minimum of 3+ years of management experience working in machine shop environment.
-
MS office skills, being proficient in Excel, Word, etc.

Basic CAD knowledge and or skill and print reading a must.

Process Design a plus.

Experience and the ability to operate and provide training on various CNC machines encompassing multiple disciplines such as milling, turning and swiss knowledge, would be key components to success.

Ability to read and interpret documents, engineering drawings, GD & T, and customer requirements.
-
Must have the basic knowledge of design and assemble of fixtures and jigs.

Experience in the use of machine tools and inspection tools.

Ability to troubleshoot precision machining processes.

Ability to establish Key Performance Indicators for Machine Shop Operations.

Ability to estimate hours and costing for jobs.
