Overview

Blue Grass Manufacturing, a subsidiary of Component Solutions Group, is a leading provider of high-quality, engineered products manufactured in the USA.  BGM is seeking a Quality Technician at our Lexington, KY facility. The candidate will be responsible following quality control systems and standards, based on facility’s quality management program, to ensure customer satisfaction through the production of products that consistently meet our customers’ needs and design standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Examine and inspect incoming material.

  • Involvement in corrective actions to improve external quality as well as customer satisfaction.

  • Track and monitor customer complaints, investigate root cause & resolve using 8D process.

  • Communicate with manager on material issues, problems, planning and updates.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Corporate Quality Manager.

  • Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced.

  • Accept or reject finished items.

  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products.

  • Report inspection and test data.

  • Resolve quality related issues in a timely manner.

  • Ability to follow laboratory procedures.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (further technical schooling is a plus).

  • 1-2 years of previous work experience in a quality role working in a manufacturing or automotive environment.

  • Proficient math skills.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with quality testing machines, lab equipment, gauges, hand tools, and systems.

  • Basic knowledge of 8D, PPAP, CARS required.

  • Basic knowledge of AIAG Level III PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, APQP, MSA.

  • Automotive Tier I or II experience is a plus.

  • Ability to read and interpret part drawings both in English and Metric.

  • Experience in a variety of basic Engineering principles and quality assurance.

  • Understanding of ISO/IATF compliancy and OSHA regulations and requirements.

  • Experience with production processes, quality controls and other techniques.

  • Experience with calipers, gauges, CMM and micrometers along with inspection and testing equipment.

  • Positive attitude towards health and safety regulations.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

  • Regular, skilled use of Microsoft programs and able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
