Headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, A1 is a tiered supplier of made to print, designed in / engineered fasteners and related components to the automotive industry and is now looking to expand our operations department. Procurement Specialist is responsible for following processes that use our support systems to optimize inventory levels, meet our packaging needs and optimizing our freight.

Communicate effectively with both internal employees and external vendors on status of orders and deliveries.

Coordinates with domestic and international suppliers' material flow for the purpose of achieving customers' requirements

Maintains item master lead time information based upon process improvements, current constraints, and priority information

Analyze material and capacity availability.

Coordinate with sales team and inventory analysts for solutions when materials cannot be delivered as promised.

Manage open orders timely shipment by supporting ship date pull-ins, push-outs or cancellations per customer requests & product availability

Validate and maintain cost structures through vendor negotiations

Meet key performance metric goals

Manage and report on supply redlines

Communicate with external vendors in ways that promote & increase business relationships & collaboration

Ensure alignment of processes between external vendors to complete tasks as efficiently as possible

Prepare and maintain status reports

Support resolution of discrepancies with shipping & logistics, finance and operations

Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the organization

Additional support as needed.
This role is responsible for providing the necessary planning, communication, and coordination of efforts to ensure that projects are successfully managed and delivered to the satisfaction of our customers. We are looking for a candidate with the following experience.

Previous experience in a similar role is a major plus

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain management or Business is preferred, but not required.

Experience working within an industrial manufacturing distribution company is preferred but not required
-
Experience managing and improving supply chain, data information and processes
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Experience in logistics.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Products

Experience in Sage 50 is a plus
