CSG is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer based out of our Lexington, KY facility. The candidate will manage the quality department activities and promote continuous improvement of current processes through the products and services provided by our various operations.  CSG facilities and operations are ISO 9001:2015 and AS9120 B certified.

  • Maintain and grow customer satisfaction and supplier relationships.

  • Implement and sustain policies, procedures, and systems to meet industry requirements.

  • Qualify new products and processes as part of our corporate business strategy.

  • Provide leadership and development for quality performance and management of a team of qualified personnel throughout the organization. 

  • Manage all aspects of our fastening systems quality, excluding the QMS and requirements of the OE industries served including: automotive, commercial vehicle, off highway, agriculture, aerospace, defense, medical and other emerging markets.

  • Lead and develop quality department team members.  Implement policies and procedures in accordance with company’s QMS objectives.

  • Track the cost of quality internally and externally, cost of sorting & containment.  Reporting KPI’s daily, monthly & quarterly per plan to ensure organizations objectives are being achieved.

  • Investigate, track & monitor customer complaints using RMA process.

  • Lead and determine root cause, corrective action thru the 8D, 3L5Why process.

  • Partner with Sales & Engineering to define, map and implement appropriate testing, inspection systems and data collection to verify product conformance and analysis for improvement.

  • Other duties as assigned by various superiors or Corporate Quality Manager.

  • Communicate with Plant Manager and Supervisors on plant issues, problems.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% to the various business units and customer facilities as needed.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering, Quality, or related field.

  • 5+ years of QA/QC Supervisory and/or Quality Operations Leadership experience

  • Demonstrated Automotive Quality Background and previous experience in IATF16949 / AS9100 Standards. 

  • Broad knowledge of APQP, PPAP, SPC, Core Quality tools.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with data analytics within Microsoft Excel.

  • Able to communicate effectively with customers as well as with all levels within the organization.

  • Proven technical leadership using structured problem-solving methods.

  • Personal attributes including strong leadership presence, high-energy, detail orientated, data analysis, and data driven decision making.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with customers.

  • Automotive tier I or II experience with knowledge of Fastener Standard Specifications.

  • Strong ability to read & interpret part drawings, both in English & Metric.

  • Perform 1st Article Inspections.  Proficient using gages, tools & testing equipment in a Lab setting.

  • Deep Knowledge of AIAG Level III PPAP, Control Plan, FMEA, APQP, SPC< MSA, IMDS, Conflict Minerals Reporting, Reach + RoHS, SVHC compliance requirements.

  • Experience in a variety of basic operation disciplines: Cold Form Manufacturing, Machining, Quality, Process / Tooling, Welding, Shop Floor Supervision, and plastic mold injection.

  • Experience with production processes, quality controls, safety, cost reduction, maintenance, and repair as well as, other techniques for effective manufacturing and plant OSHA regulations.

  • Proven ability to work with cross functional teams and posses all other qualities critical for managerial success including leadership, motivation, decisiveness, flexibility, and sound business judgement.

  • Experience in a variety of basic operation disciplines: Manufacturing, Machining, Quality, Process Control / Tooling, Welding, Shop Floor Supervision.

  • Material knowledge Steel, Plastic, Nylon and Secondary processes: Heat treat, plating and coating.

  • AS experience is a plus

  • CAD experience is a plus
